Joan was an independent woman, ahead of her time. She had a long and successful career at London Zoo where she was awarded the ZSL medal for an outstanding contribution to the Zoo’s work over an extended period of time. Joan established and maintained many long friendships sharing her love of travel and music, especially opera. After she retired she became an enthusiastic indoor bowler and her contribution at the Glebelands Indoor bowling club has been invaluable. 


She will be greatly missed.
