I started at ZSL in 1999 where I met Joan who had already been working at ZSL for 30+ years. Her position was the Financial Accountant and her main role was running payroll to ensure everyone got paid. She was very good at her job and new exactly who should be paid and when. She even had to contend with a few keepers who would only accept being paid weekly in cash!

Joan was very meticulous about making sure the payroll was correct. I was aware of her interest in Bowls and that she was quite good at it. I think she did win a few trophies although she never boasted about them.

She was a great asset to ZSL and will be sorely missed
